The Challenge
MassLocalPro needed a directory platform that could scale across every city in Massachusetts, not a handful of launch markets.
Listing had to stay free for every business, so the directory could fill up without a paywall at the front door.
Business owners who wanted extra visibility needed paid subscription tiers on top of the free listing.
The operator is based in Pakistan, which ruled out Stripe — subscription billing had to run through a provider that supports that setup.
Our Approach
Treated local SEO as the foundation of the product, building the content and metadata layer so every city and category page could compete in local search.
Standardised metadata through a template system, so new cities and categories inherit correct titles and descriptions instead of being written one by one.
Chose a Merchant-of-Record billing model via Lemon Squeezy, which handles payments, tax and invoicing on the operator's behalf and removes the Stripe dependency.
Enforced plan limits on the server rather than in the interface, and backed the billing layer with a full security audit.
